Website design & development

Custom website design and development, wherever you are.

Every site I build starts on a blank page. No themes, no drag-and-drop builder holding you back, no monthly plugin tax. Just a fast, hand-coded website designed around how your customers actually decide, and engineered to be found.

The portfolio

Every one of these was built from scratch.

All live, all clickable. Different industries, different problems, same standard.

Why custom

A template makes you look like everyone else.

Page builders are fine until you need speed, a layout nobody else has, or something the plugin marketplace doesn’t sell. Then you are stuck, paying monthly for software that is actively slowing you down.

A slow, generic site doesn’t just rank badly. It quietly tells every visitor that you are ordinary.

Not sure if you need custom? Read the honest comparison

  • Speed that Google measures. Core Web Vitals are a ranking factor. Hand-coded sites pass them without a caching plugin duct-taped on top.
  • Design nobody else has. Your layout is drawn around your business, not retrofitted into someone’s theme.
  • Nothing to break. No plugin conflicts, no forced updates, no surprise white screen the morning of a launch.
  • You own it. Real code you can hand to anyone. No proprietary lock-in holding your site hostage.
  • Costs less to run. Static hosting on Cloudflare is pennies, not a stack of monthly subscriptions.

What you get

Everything a site needs, handled.

Not a list of add-ons that appear on the invoice later. This is the baseline on every build.

Design & copy direction

Layout, type, color and the words that go in them. If your copy isn’t working, I’ll tell you and help rewrite it. A beautiful page selling nothing is a failure.

Mobile first, actually

Most of your traffic is a phone on cell service. That’s where I design first and test hardest, on real devices rather than a resized browser window.

Technical SEO built in

Clean semantic markup, schema, sitemaps, fast Core Web Vitals, proper titles and metadata on every page. Done during the build, not sold back to you after.

E-commerce & booking

Sell products, take deposits, or let people book time with you. Wired into whatever payment and calendar tools you already use.

Accessibility

Keyboard navigation, real contrast, proper labels and reduced-motion support. It widens your audience and it’s the right thing to do.

Launch, wired up

Domain, hosting, SSL, analytics and your Google Business Profile all connected and verified before you tell anyone the site is live.

Beyond the build

A site is the start, not the finish line.

Launching is easy. Staying visible is the part most people underestimate. These are optional, and I’ll tell you honestly which ones you actually need.

01

Custom back ends

When an off-the-shelf CMS can’t do it, I build it. Inventory that syncs, dashboards for your team, customer portals, internal tools, automations that kill the spreadsheet you dread opening. Built on the same fast infrastructure as the front end.

02

Website management

Updates, new pages, seasonal changes, product drops, monitoring and backups, all handled by the person who built the thing, so nothing gets broken in the process.

Recommended if ranking matters. Google rewards sites that stay current. A site nobody touches for a year slowly slides down the results.

03

SEO growth plans

For when you want clicks you don’t pay for. Keyword research around what your customers actually type, content built to answer it, local SEO and Google Business Profile work, technical fixes, and monthly reporting in plain English.

Slower than ads. Compounds instead of stopping the moment you stop paying.

04

Google Ads

For when you need the phone to ring this week. Campaign setup, landing pages built to convert the traffic you’re buying, conversion tracking that actually fires, and honest reporting on cost per lead.

Ads and SEO work best together. Ads buy you data and immediate volume while the organic side builds.

What does a custom website cost?

There is no price list, because a five-page site for a tattoo studio and a storefront with custom inventory sync are not the same job. Pricing is built from the scale of the site and the functions it needs to perform. Tell me what you’re trying to do and you’ll get a real number, not a range.

How a build runs

Four steps. No surprises.

  1. Discovery

Your customers, your competition, and what the site has to accomplish. I look at who’s already ranking for the terms you want and what it would take to get there.

  2. Design

You see finished design in a real browser, not a grayscale wireframe or a static mockup. We refine it until you’d send the link to a stranger.

  3. Build

Hand-coded, tested on real devices, and tuned for Core Web Vitals and search while it’s being built rather than bolted on after.

  4. Launch & beyond

Domain, hosting, analytics and Google Business Profile wired up. Then I stay reachable. You are texting a person, not filing a ticket.

FAQ

Questions I get about websites.

There’s no fixed price list. Cost is driven by the scale of the site and the functions it has to perform. A focused five-page site for a studio is a very different job from a storefront with custom inventory sync and a customer portal.

Tell me what you’re trying to accomplish and I’ll quote the actual project. You get one real number, not a vague range that doubles later.

Most builds run a few weeks from kickoff to launch. The single biggest variable isn’t the code. It is how quickly copy, photos and product information come together on your end.

If you have a hard deadline, say so up front and I’ll tell you honestly whether it’s realistic.

Usually not. Most of what I build is hand-coded, because it’s faster, cheaper to run and has nothing to break.

But I’m not religious about it. If a platform genuinely is the right call for your situation (you need to edit everything yourself daily, or you need a specific integration that only exists there), I’ll say so and build it there. I’ve done exactly that for clients before.

Honestly? For most small businesses, the best builder is the one you’ll actually keep updated. Wix and Squarespace are good at what they do and there’s no shame in using them.

You outgrow them when speed starts costing you rankings, when you need a layout the templates can’t produce, or when you need custom functionality behind the site. That’s the point where custom code stops being a luxury and starts being cheaper than fighting the platform.

The technical foundations are built into every site: semantic markup, schema, sitemaps, fast Core Web Vitals, clean metadata. That makes you eligible to rank.

Actually ranking for competitive terms takes ongoing work: content, local SEO, your Google Business Profile, and time. That’s what the SEO growth plans are for. Anyone promising you page one in thirty days is guessing.

Yes. Inventory that syncs with your suppliers, team dashboards, customer portals, booking systems, automations that replace a spreadsheet, all built on the same fast infrastructure as the front end, so it doesn’t slow the site down.

Yes, for free. Send me the URL and I’ll look at speed, mobile experience, search visibility and the things quietly costing you customers, then tell you what I’d fix first.

If your current site is fine, I’ll tell you that too and point you at what would actually move the needle instead.

No. Website work is remote by nature, and most of mine is. Nothing about designing and building a site needs me in the room, so we run it over calls, email and shared links, the same way it would if I were down the street.

Phoenix only matters for the in-person work. Matterport 3D tours and photography need me physically in your space, so those are usually Arizona. I do travel when a project calls for it, so ask.
